Our Lady of Mt. Carmel gives back to the community each year, in the form of two YSU scholarships in the amount of $1000.00 each.

Did you know?

  • Over the years the Mt Carmel Italian Festival has had crowds of over 12,000
  • The Fest is held every year during the 4th week of July on the Parish grounds
  • Billed as Youngstown’s biggest Italian festival, headline acts have come from all over
  • Mt Carmel Parish could not do it without the support of area businesses who allow use of their parking facilities.  These 6 large parking lots are located at Choffin, Levinson Tire, Advantage Vinyl, YMCA, Humility of Mary Health Partners, as well as St. Cyril’s and Mt. Carmel.  During the fest, these lots are filled most the time.

Each year, proceeds are used to assist in the preservation and maintenance of the very historic Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church.

Why is the fest so popular?
"Simple. We keep it 100% Italian! We give the people what we advertise... a true Italian festival, from the food, to the entertainment down to the imported Peroni Italian beer and the home made wine."
